Daily Acts of Love

This may be the month of love but, call me a romantic, it should be every day...

Sometimes people wonder how you can love someone - the same person - for so long? The Mister is actually my first boyfriend ever (and yes, first kiss too) and I happen to be his first as well. This seems rare nowadays. You don't really meet people who end up marrying their first love. I mean, we've already spent more than half our lives together! And it may sound weird but I'm even more in love with him now than ever. #partnersforlife

So what's the secret? Daily acts of love. Whether it's him cooking dinner (and washing dishes after, sometimes) to me cleaning and doing laundry, we both take turns at being each other's partner and showing appreciation for it (I always say thanks whenever he cooks). I believe when you commit to marriage, it's agreeing to being equal partners. No one is greater or better than the other person and having that respect towards each other is sign of how much you value their opinion. And when someone feels valued, you can see it.

Of course, no relationship is perfect. There will be ups and downs and challenges you never imagine that would pop up. You go through different life stages going from boyfriend/girlfriend to fiances to husband/wife to mom/dad and so on. But as long as you commit to each other and continue to show daily acts of love - even when you are upset at each other - it's a sign of saying, I am here for you no matter what. And that is what it should be...or at least to me.

How do you show someone you care?

Even saying the good old "I love you" counts! I probably say this 10+ times a day (haha) but that's how I feel. #hopelessromantic Thanks for reading and sending you hugs!
