Attended Style Week OC 2018 over the weekend and girl, do I got some beauty/fashion tips for ya...
Every September not only marks NYFW on the east coast but also Style Week OC on the west coast. In the past, this event was held at night with fashion shows (like these here, hereand here). Now it takes place during the daytime with speaker panels and in-store shopping parties.

It almost felt like de ja vu attending Style Week OC again with Donna. We're like one of the original bloggers who's been supporting the OC fashion community for sooo many years now (seriously - see the proof here)!

This year's Style Week OC was hosted by SIMPLY, known for its popular celebrity/influencer speaker panels and blog conferences over the world. If you weren't able to make it to Style Week OC at Fashion Island over the weekend, don't worry. Here's a round-up of my fave fall fashion and beauty tips you need to know!

BEAUTY PANEL :: Ali Grant {founder of Be Social agency}, Louise Roe {British blogger of Front Roe}, Emma Wilis {celebrity makeup & hair stylist}, Ali Landry {actress, host, cofounder of RE/SHAPE}, Lillian Babaian {LA blogger at Studs & Sapphires}, Scott Cunha {LA hair stylist}

Can't stress the importance of good quality beauty products! What you put on your face matters. With the arrival of fall and temperatures cooling down, our skin starts to change. Here's some of the panelists' favorite beauty products: Nivea cream {Emma swears by this!}, collage daily {yes daily according to Louise}, microdermabrasion roller {a must for Ali}, organic spearmint tea for hormonal acne {this was a life changer for Lillian}, Mario Badescu's rose water toner {Scott uses this religiously, he even sprayed it on him on stage haha}. All in all, it was a unanimous vote to splurge on quality skincare/haircare products and save on makeup cause even the local drugstore has some good working makeup (I personally like Maybelline's mascara)!

FASHION PANEL :: Lauren Bushnell {TV personality from The Bachelor, creator of Dear Rose wine}, Sophie Elkus  {LA influencer of Angel Food Style}, Kat Tanita {blogger of With Love from Kat}
The most popular talked-about fall trend coming back this season was....*drum roll*...leopard prints! This was seen quite often at New York Fashion Week and it looks like it's going to happily make a comeback. Kat shared if there's one thing you're going to invest in for the season, try a leopard print coat. Also loved her idea of pairing all white with the coat! Will have to try that out. Whereas Sophie likes wearing the monochromatic look with different shades of that same color family. Magenta and pink together? Yes please!

Q&A by Sarah Boyd with Lo Bosworth {creator of Love Wellness}
Love Wellness is an "all-natural feminine hygiene brand" focused on inspiring "women to take care of their personal health" (as stated here). Many of us focus on eating healthy, using natural makeup, wearing eco-conscious clothing but what about self-care? Lo has taken it a step farther by creating a brand to give women healthier options. Sarah {host and founder of SIMPLY} and Lo also discussed the challenges of running your own company. Their best advice? Tomorrow will come. You can't plan everything; if you don't finish it today, there is still tomorrow.

What fall trends are you excited for?

Hmm I think I have to go with the majority and vote for more leopard prints this fall season! Let's do itttt. Happy fall y'all! Thanks for reading and sending you hugs!

Fun fact :: I used to work backstage at a couple of the Style Week OC events wayyy back then (circa 2011) and it was such a fast-paced environment! As a stylist, you have to help change the model's outfits from one look to another (complete with shoes and accessories) within a couple minutes. This was a great learning experience to be able to move fast and see what goes on "behind-the-scenes" for a fashion show. I'd recommend anyone interested in doing this to volunteer first. Let me just say, after those experiences, I appreciate all the work that goes into producing a fashion show even more. Bravo to each and every one of you!
