Sundays got a new brunch in town...
Located in the heart of North OC, not too far off the 405 freeway Brookhurst exit, is The Recess Room and they are launching a brunch menu starting Sunday, August 6th! We've been hearing all the latest crave about the froze (made with sparkling rose) and when we saw they had it here, we couldn't resist trying it!
That beautiful piece of watermelon art is their Jolly Rancher cocktail and it made everyone's mouths drop. I mean, can you blame them? If you love pretty drinks and tasty dishes then this place is totally for you! From their 24-Carrot Diamond cocktail (yes, it has real carrot juice in it) to the flavorful chilaquiles that comes with a hint of a spicy kick to the most beautiful avocado toast, each item on their brunch menu is sure to satisfy your tastebuds.
Whether you're craving something sweet or savory, there's a variety of brunch options to choose from. The crunchy layers of the cereal crusted french toast (top corner) with the blueberry and mascarpone filling was a combination of all my favorite breakfast items into one! It's big enough to share but also so good, you may not want to.
Let's not forget the chicken & waffles. They took a twist here by breading the chicken before frying it and pairing it with a kimchi waffle along with lots and lots of whipped honey butter. Kelly really loved this super soft butter and probably would've eaten the whole thing if she could (lol)! It was that addicting.
